The Question of Palestine with Dr. Akan Malici

September 15 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us for a one-hour lecture followed by Q&A with Dr. Akan Malici, Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Furman University. His lecture will address the following questions: When and why did the Israeli-Palestinian conflict start? What exactly are the claims of the contending sides? Why does peace seem unattainable? What is the role of the international community and the U.S. in particular? What are possible outcomes?  Dr. Malici has authored several articles and books on international conflict and American foreign policy. Among the books are U.S. Presidents and Foreign Policy Mistakes, Role Theory and Role Conflict in U.S.-Iran Relations and An Introduction to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.  Dr. Malici is donating all profits from his book An Introduction to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict to humanitarian relief work. Vegetarian pizza and refreshments will be served starting at 6:30 before the presentation at 7.
