Peace for Palestine

October 21, 2025 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The Carolina Peace Resource Center meets every 3rd Tuesday evening at GROW to educate and mobilize on the war in Gaza. This month, the topic is “What is Israel and Why is it Acting This Way?” A History of Political Zionism and Its Present Manifestation in American Politics — with Michael Berg

Hybrid Event Online via Zoom and In-Person at GROW, 1340 Elmwood Ave. in Columbia.
Many people have a misunderstanding about what Israel is and why it exists. Michael Berg will give an overview of the origins of modern political Zionism and then go over an example of how the Zionist project manifests itself in American policy, concentration on the example of St. Louis, where he lives, and the 2024 Congressional race between Cori Bush and Wesley Bell. This information should help people make more sense of the catastrophic genocide of the Palestinian people that we witness today, and help people more effectively oppose this genocide.
Michael Berg is the former Director of the Carolina Peace Resource Center and was the Political Director of the Missouri Sierra Club for 15 years.
Light refreshments provided.  Free and open to the public. FOLLOWED BY Sign-making 8pm-9pm
