Join SouthernGauge, an experimental film series based out of Columbia, operating through the University of SC Humanities Collaborative. This winter, they will be offering at GROW a series of experimental films/media art that explore transcendentalism and international films from locations that have/had travel bans. First up:

Movement (paused)

Please join SouthernGauge (@southernguage on instagram) for Movement (paused). This program brings together works that investigate movement, space, and the human relationship to those boundaries in between. Featuring work connected to countries affected by the U.S. travel ban, the work in this program meditates on traveling, or not traveling through these boundaries.

How does creative work move when people cannot? Across borders, through bodies, within politics, or between earth, sea, and sky? What does it mean when creative work can cross borders its makers can’t?

We invite you to consider your own relationship to this movement: how you engage with the works through viewing, playing, and interacting.
