DESCRIPTION:The Carolina Peace Resource Center meets every 3rd Tuesday evening at GROW to educate and mobilize on the war in Gaza. This month\, the topic is “What is Israel and Why is it Acting This Way?” A History of Political Zionism and Its Present Manifestation in American Politics — with Michael Berg \nHybrid Event Online via Zoom and In-Person at GROW\, 1340 Elmwood Ave. in Columbia.\n\nMany people have a misunderstanding about what Israel is and why it exists. Michael Berg will give an overview of the origins of modern political Zionism and then go over an example of how the Zionist project manifests itself in American policy\, concentration on the example of St. Louis\, where he lives\, and the 2024 Congressional race between Cori Bush and Wesley Bell.
