The spring 2026 session of the Modjeska Simkins School runs from March 2 through June 22. Classes meet Monday evenings in-person at GROW in Columbia, on Zoom, and broadcast live to satellite sites in Charleston, Lancaster, Pendleton, Penn Center, and Sumter. These classes are open to registered students only.

After months of study, students from the spring session will meet to celebrate their graduation. It is always a joy to be together and feel the bond that's been created over our shared experience. Students who have been attending online will gather in Columbia for the first time since their orientation session the first week
Join us every first and third Thursday for an evening of jazz by some of the Midlands' finest. It is a veritable sound bath in an intimate setting. It's free and open to all.
We are starting a new film series at GROW, and first up is the award-winning The Earth's Greatest Enemy. The 2023 film by Abby Martin exposes the world's biggest polluter: the US military. This documentary investigates the Pentagon's catastrophic toll on the planet–from carbon emissions, to toxic dumping, to habitat destruction and more, while highlighting

NEW! Every second Tuesday, GROW hosts an open mic to showcase local emerging and established performers of all kinds. Sasha's band will open and close the evening. In between, we invite musicians, poets, and story tellers to take the stage. Snacks and beverages available for suggested donations. All are welcome.
